The Story of Artemis Closures – Driven by Excellence

Precision, responsibility, and innovation – forged through decades of manufacturing expertise.

2005-2010

Beginnings and Strategic Location

Artemis was founded in 2005 as a Bulgarian-Greek partnership by professionals with proven experience in the production of aluminum closures. From its inception, the company strategically chose to establish its manufacturing site in the Shumen Industrial Park – a location with a future-oriented vision. The park is situated near key transportation corridors and offers access to maritime, river, rail, and highway transport. Artemis positioned itself in an area with fully developed infrastructure and significant growth potential, investing from the start in sustainable development and top-tier industrial capacity.

2010-2015

Early Expansion

Following a successful launch, Artemis developed an international network of partnerships, particularly in the wine and spirits industries. Key collaborations began with companies from Western Europe, including a UK-based packaging manufacturer, helping expand the presence of Bulgarian-made products in the “Bag in Box” segment. The company built a portfolio of international partners distributing its products – notably the French company Optopack, which led to the creation of a joint brand: Optocaps. Under this label, Artemis products – including closures and capsules for wine and spirits – were distributed on the French market.

2015-2023

Sustainable Growth and International Positioning

The company established a dedicated sales team, expanded its customer base, and strengthened its presence in key European markets such as Germany, France, Turkey, Greece, and Italy. With a focus on aluminum closures and heat-shrink capsules, Artemis invested in modern equipment, automation, and sustainable practices. Certified management systems for quality, food safety, and environmental responsibility were integrated: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.

2024

Focus and New Structure

In 2024, the company spun off its “Bag in Box” operations to focus exclusively on the production of closures and capsules. This strategic move allowed for further investment and optimization of the production process. All efforts were redirected toward innovation, sustainable solutions, and building a strong corporate identity that reflects the experience accumulated over the years.

2025-Present

Artemis Closures

As of 2025, all of the company’s products are marketed under the brand Artemis Closures, clearly reflecting its specialization in aluminum closures and capsules for wine, spirits, oils, and vinegar. The company is investing in a new production facility and continues to expand its international footprint, delivering products to over 30 countries through a flexible network of commercial partners and distributors.
